How to Build an Office Coffee Routine with EspressoOne
By OpenClip

EspressoOne can fit into an office coffee routine when you give it a dedicated place, keep water and your preferred coffee format nearby, and clean the brewing parts promptly after each use. A simple prepare–brew–rinse–reset sequence makes the routine easier to repeat while keeping a shared kitchenette tidy and ready for the next person.
Why build a repeatable office coffee routine?
Good workplace routines remove small decisions. Instead of searching for capsules, carrying loose components between your desk and the sink, or leaving clean-up until later, you can keep the essentials together and follow the same short sequence each time.
EspressoOne™ Portable Espresso Maker is a rechargeable portable espresso-style coffee maker with an 80mL water tank and a supplied 200mL cup. It accepts ground coffee, small capsules and large capsules, so the routine can be adapted to the coffee format that suits your workplace. Its compact body measures 7.3 × 7.3 × 24.5cm and weighs approximately 695g.
Set up a small, sensible coffee station
Choose a dry, stable section of the kitchenette bench that is close to the sink but away from the splash zone. If bench space is shared, use a small tray or shallow tub to keep the coffee maker and its clean components together. The tray also makes it easy to move everything when the bench needs to be cleared.
Keep only the supplies you actually use at work:
- EspressoOne and the correct brewing component for your chosen coffee format
- ground coffee or compatible capsules in their original storage container
- fresh drinking water
- a clean cup and a dedicated cloth
- a small container for used grounds or capsules if the nearest bin is not convenient
Avoid storing loose coffee beside cleaning chemicals, strongly scented foods or a damp sink. Keep the device and its charging connection dry, and follow the supplied product instructions for charging and assembly.
Choose one default coffee format
EspressoOne supports three options, but an office routine is often simpler when one becomes your weekday default. Ground coffee lets you bring a measured portion from home. Small or large capsules reduce measuring and can be convenient when clean-up time is limited.
If several people share the station, do not mix unidentified capsules or loose coffee in one container. Keep each format separate and clearly organised. For a more detailed comparison, read Ground Coffee or Capsules for EspressoOne: What Should You Pack?.
A practical prepare–brew–rinse–reset sequence
1. Prepare before the break
Check that the device has enough charge before the workday or before a longer shift. Place the correct brewing component, coffee and cup on the clean bench. Add no more than the stated 80mL water capacity. Starting with cold water, the built-in 72W heating system brings the water to 90°C in approximately five to six minutes before extraction, so allow for that time rather than beginning just before a meeting.
2. Assemble on a stable surface
Fit the appropriate component for ground coffee, a small capsule or a large capsule according to the product instructions. Make sure each part is seated correctly before starting. Keep the unit upright and do not hold it over a keyboard, paperwork or your lap. Hot water and freshly brewed coffee can cause burns, so give the device and cup a clear working area.
3. Brew without multitasking
Stay nearby while the cycle runs. A portable coffee maker is still a hot-liquid appliance, and an office bench is safer than a moving vehicle, crowded corridor or unstable desk. EspressoOne has an LCD display and dry-boil protection, but those features do not replace correct filling, assembly and supervision.
4. Rinse soon after use
Let hot components cool enough to handle safely, then remove the used grounds or capsule. Rinse the removable brewing parts as directed and wipe the exterior with a clean cloth. Do not immerse or rinse the electrical body unless the product instructions specifically direct you to do so. Prompt clean-up prevents residue from becoming tomorrow's problem and leaves the shared sink usable.
5. Reset the station
Allow rinsed parts to drain and dry before reassembly or storage. Return the supplies to the tray, wipe any drips from the bench and dispose of coffee waste according to workplace rules. If the unit needs charging, move it to a dry location and use the charging method specified in the product instructions.
Make the routine work in a shared office
A compact coffee setup still needs basic etiquette. Ask before taking over permanent bench space, avoid brewing during calls in a quiet room, and clean the sink strainer after disposing of grounds. If colleagues also use EspressoOne, agree on who supplies consumables and who completes the final clean at the end of the day.
Do not leave hot water, used capsules or damp coffee grounds unattended. If your workplace restricts personal electrical appliances, seek permission before bringing the device in. Workplace electrical and kitchen rules take priority over convenience.
What to do at the end of the week
Before heading home, empty any remaining water, clean and dry the removable components, wipe the storage tray and check the coffee supply. Take damp cloths home for washing rather than leaving them in a closed drawer. A weekly reset helps Monday's first coffee begin with clean, dry equipment.
If the device has travelled between home and work, use the fuller routine in How to Clean and Reset EspressoOne After a Trip. For days when the office becomes the starting point for a drive, see the Portable Coffee for Road Trips guide.
Frequently asked questions
Can EspressoOne stay at the office?
Yes, if your workplace permits personal appliances and you have a clean, dry and secure storage location. Keep the device away from sink splashes, clean it after use and follow the supplied charging and operating instructions.
How much water does EspressoOne hold?
The water tank holds up to 80mL. The supplied cup has a 200mL capacity. Do not exceed the water-tank limit stated on the product page and instructions.
Can I use coffee grounds and capsules at work?
EspressoOne supports ground coffee, small capsules and large capsules using the appropriate component. Keeping one format as your weekday default can simplify storage and clean-up.
How long should I allow when starting with cold water?
The product specification states approximately five to six minutes to bring cold water to 90°C before extraction. Build that heating time into your break and remain nearby while the device operates.
Should I charge EspressoOne beside the sink?
No. Keep the device and charging connection in a dry location, away from splashes, and follow the supplied charging instructions. Also check whether your workplace has rules for personal electrical appliances.
Start with a routine you can repeat
The most useful office coffee setup is not the most elaborate one. Give the device a stable place, choose a default coffee format, allow enough heating time, clean promptly and reset the station before returning to work. If that approach suits your day, explore EspressoOne and its current specifications.
